Terms of Service

1. Scope and Provider

These terms govern your use of the GoodShare app and its related services. The provider is Robert Miller, Willstraße 23, 90429 Nuremberg, Germany (see Imprint). By downloading, installing, or using GoodShare, you agree to these terms.

2. Description of Service

GoodShare allows you to:

• Track income and expenses
• Create and manage budget books
• Categorize transactions
• Set up recurring payments
• Share budget books with others and settle up expenses
• Export and back up your data

The free version stays free for good. Its limits and what GoodShare Pro adds are listed on the Pricing page.

3. User Accounts

• To share your own books, you need an account. You can create one with your email address, with Google, or on iPhone with Apple.
• You must be at least 16 years old.
• You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure.

4. Acceptable Use

You must NOT:

• Use the app for unlawful purposes
• Attack the app, bypass its security measures, or reverse engineer it, except where the law expressly permits this
• Upload malicious code
• Harass other users

5. Your Data

• You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter.
• Your financial data belongs to you. We only process it to provide GoodShare to you; details are in our Privacy Policy.
• We recommend backing up your data regularly with the export feature.

6. Shared Budget Books

• All members of a shared book can see all transactions in it.
• Only the owner of a book invites and removes members. Any member can leave a book at any time.
• Your transactions stay in the book, even if you leave it or delete your account.
• If the owner deletes a book or their account, the book is deleted for all members.
• Treat other members and their data with respect.

7. Third-Party Services

To run GoodShare, we use the following services, among others:

• Firebase Authentication: sign-in
• Cloud Firestore: data storage and sync
• Firebase Storage: receipt image storage
• Firebase Crashlytics: crash reports for fixing bugs
• Firebase Analytics: pseudonymous usage statistics
• Google Gemini: AI features (optional, see section 8)
• Google Play Billing: subscription payments on Android
• Apple App Store: subscription payments on iPhone

Firebase, Gemini, and Google Play are provided by Google, the App Store by Apple. Our Privacy Policy explains which data is processed.

8. AI Features

GoodShare offers optional AI features: the receipt scanner, the AI Financial Analysis (with GoodShare Pro), and category suggestions.

• Consent for the receipt scanner: Before your first scan, you tick the box "I agree to the processing" in the scan sheet. The app remembers your consent and pre-ticks the box for later scans; without the tick, no scan starts.
• Consent for the AI Financial Analysis: The app asks you first in a separate dialog. You can turn the AI Financial Analysis off in Settings at any time.
• Category suggestions: They only run when you tap them.
• Processing: The data is sent through our own server in the EU to Google Gemini in the EU region. Our Privacy Policy lists which data this is.
• Storage: Google does not store the input permanently and does not use it to train its models. To speed up responses, Google may cache it for up to 24 hours.
• Limits: The free version allows a limited number of receipt scans per month; GoodShare Pro has no limit.
• Accuracy: AI results can contain mistakes. Check the detected amounts and dates before you save them.
• Without AI: You can always add transactions manually and attach receipts without AI processing.

9. GoodShare Pro

• Free trial: 14 days, once per account. You do not need to enter any payment details. The trial ends automatically and does not turn into a paid subscription.
• Subscription and prices: GoodShare Pro is available as a monthly or yearly subscription. The prices shown to you by Google Play or the App Store before purchase apply. Introductory offers for new subscribers only apply for the period stated there.
• Billing: through Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iPhone).
• Renewal: The subscription renews automatically for the chosen period unless you cancel it beforehand.
• Cancellation: at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period, in the subscription settings of Google Play (Android) or your Apple Account (iPhone). You keep GoodShare Pro until then.
• After it ends: When GoodShare Pro ends, the limits of the free version apply again. Your data is not deleted.

10. Service Availability

• We aim for high availability but cannot promise uninterrupted operation.
• We announce scheduled maintenance in advance whenever possible.
• The app also works offline; changes sync as soon as a connection is available again.

11. Liability and Warranty

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body, or health, under the German Product Liability Act, and to the extent of any guarantee we have given.

In cases of slight negligence, we are only liable if we breach an essential contractual obligation. This is an obligation whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose fulfilment you may regularly rely. In this case, liability is limited to the damage that is foreseeable and typical for this type of contract. Otherwise, liability for slight negligence is excluded.

Your statutory rights in the event of defects, in particular for digital products, remain unaffected.

GoodShare helps you plan your finances but does not replace financial, tax, or legal advice. Check calculations and statistics before you base important decisions on them. Back up your data regularly with the export feature, for example in case you lose your device.

12. Changes to These Terms

• We only change these terms for a valid reason, for example new features, a change in the law, or new requirements from Google or Apple.
• We announce significant changes to you in good time in the app or by email. They only apply to you once you have expressly agreed to them. Silence or simply continuing to use the app does not count as agreement.
• If you do not agree, the previous terms continue to apply to you. If we cannot keep offering GoodShare on those terms, we may terminate the agreement with four weeks' notice; a subscription you have already paid for continues until the end of its term. You can terminate at any time yourself (section 13).
• Purely editorial changes that do not affect the content, and adjustments that a law, a court, or an authority strictly requires, apply without separate agreement as long as they do not restrict your rights. We inform you about these as well.
• The current version is always available at goodshare.app/terms/.

13. Termination and Account Deletion

• You can end the agreement at any time without notice by deleting your account: in the app under Settings → "Delete Account", or by emailing us. The steps and what gets deleted are described on the Delete Account page.
• When you delete your account, we remove your data from the app's database immediately. Remaining copies in backups and logs are removed no later than 30 days afterwards. Firebase Crashlytics deletes pseudonymous crash reports after 90 days, and Firebase Analytics deletes pseudonymous usage statistics after 14 months, automatically.
• Deleting your account does not end a running subscription. Cancel GoodShare Pro first in Google Play or in the subscription settings of your Apple Account.
• We may terminate the agreement for good cause, in particular for serious or repeated violations of section 4.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer protection laws of the country where you habitually reside.

15. Refunds

• Subscriptions are handled by Google Play (Android) and Apple (iPhone). We do not receive any payments ourselves and therefore cannot issue refunds directly.
• You can request a refund from Google Play or from Apple via reportaproblem.apple.com.
• Your statutory rights, for example in the event of defects, remain unaffected. If something goes wrong, we are happy to help by email.
• The free trial costs nothing and ends automatically; you do not need to cancel it.
